We started our season out not too long ago. After introducing our two new team members we got to work right away. This year's game is called "In The Zone". The game starts with a fifteen second autonomous period, where the robot is programmed to drive around and score without any help from the driver. There are a few different places to score. Such as; the high goals and mobile goals that the robot stacks cones onto. After the autonomous period is over the drivers have 1:45 to score. You're able to place the mobile goals anywhere on the field. There are zones for both teams to add to their mobile goal score; (5 point zone, 10 point zone, and 20 point zone.) There are additional points given for having the highest stack in a zone or parking your robot in your teams color square.

In previous years the (old)G Team has won the state competition. The C Team went 7-0 in qualification matches and ended up being the first ranked alliance because of SP points. The C Team then went on to pick MEHS, the 2nd ranked team, and the RLF Eagles, the 22nd ranked team. They went against the Windom Eagles B Team, the third ranked team, the Q is Silqent, the 12th ranked team, and the IJ Holton Engineers C Team, the 20th ranked team. The finals match was very heated and was red with 2 wins and blue with 1 win. No one was every certain who had won the matches and the wait for a final score in the third match seemed like it took forever. The C Team also were presented with the Excellence Award, which is the highest of honors. The G Teams final ranking was 38th with a 3-4 loss over win record. The G Team had a lot of robot troubles early on in their matches which set them back. The C Team with their banners/trophies.
On January 9 we had our first tournament for 2016. It was a very successful tournament for both the teams. The G team was able to be the tournament finalists and take second places along with the Design Award. The C team won the tournament and were also awarded the Excellence Award. Both teams will be present at the state tournament in Saint Cloud.
Well, it's been an eventful past two weeks. Before we start the bad news I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Starting with the G Team, they have decided to rebuild their robot for the third time this year. It will have a similar design as the
C Teams robot with a fly-wheel shooter and a roller intake. They are just finishing up some wiring issues and some code problems. The C Team has decided to discontinue their lift idea. It was causing to many problems and was bending way to much metal and just would not work out. They have now decided to focus on better accuracy with the fly wheel and driving to improve on speed. On December 5 we had our tournament in Bemidji, Minnesota. It was quite a successful tournament for both teams. The C Team finished the qualification rounds in first place and were able to pick the G Team as their second alliance partner and the Cattle Town Crew from Lancaster as their third team alliance. This combination of alliance was able to win the whole tournament and also got the first recorded robot lift in Minnesota. The C Team was able to come home with the Excellence award, Programming skills champions, and Robot skills champions. The G team was able to be the Tournament champions selected for an alliance with the C team. Both teams would like to thank our fans that came out to support us and our alliance partners for helping us achieve such an honor.
Today both teams have been working primarily on tweaking both robots. The C team has been working on replacing shafts and just woriking on small things. The G team has been adjusting their robot to fit their new lifting mechanism they have been working on for the last week. Both teams are very excited to participate at Bemidji this Saturday, we hope to see you there!
Both teams attended the Albany tournament on November, 21 2015 in Albany Minnesota. It was a successful tournament for both teams coming back with a Design award and an Excellence award. The C team was honored with the Excellence award and also were the tournament champions. The C team was also first in the programming skills and the robot skills challenges. The G team received the Design award and they made it to the tournament semi-finals. Both teams now qualify for the state competition in Saint Cloud, Minnesota. Our YouTube channel has a new video so go check it out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngZZPoVaJek The G Team is completely rebuilding their robot to have one shooter instead of two. They are hoping it will be a faster shooter than before! The G Team is currently working on wiring their robot to finish the programming and hopefully be on the field soon!
